Harpo the Cat, Lost in Rome is the first children’s book written and illustrated by Andrew Rush. As the father of two little girls (Emily & Abby), and son of a well-known Brooklyn-based painter, Andrew was inspired to write and paint his first children’s book after a trip to Rome with his mother and step-father, both architects, in 2005. Andrew would see the feral cats gathering for their daily meals as fed by the local “Nonnas,” or grandmothers, who would feed the cats in the neighborhood of Trestavere, in the streets of Rome. Being exposed to his father’s picturesque oil painting which includes cityscape and landscape…he combined his love for storytelling with his love for adventure…and hence was born, Harpo the Cat, Lost in Rome.
Thank you very much!
